In short: Shimpaku does not collect any personal data.

Who we are

Shimpaku is made by Finiks Labs LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Shimpaku app for iPhone and Android and this website.

What the app stores

Shimpaku has no accounts and no sign-in. Everything the app needs to work is saved only on your device:

• Your settings and the bonsai tree you have chosen.
• The growth progress of your tree.
• A history of your sessions, kept for up to 365 days or 500 sessions, whichever comes first.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking tools, or third-party crash reporting, and it does not make network calls to function.

You can erase everything at any time from Settings → Reset all local data. Uninstalling the app also deletes it.

System backups

If you have iCloud or Google backup turned on at the operating-system level, your device's backup may include Shimpaku's local data. That backup is controlled by your phone's operating system, not by the app, and you can manage or turn it off in your system settings.

Permissions

Shimpaku may ask for the following permissions:

• Focus notifications (optional) — used only to let you know a session has ended. These are local notifications; there is no push server involved.
• Vibration — light haptic feedback when a session starts or ends, and when you touch the garden.
• Exact alarm (Android only) — used so that end-of-session notification arrives on time.

Shimpaku does not use the microphone, camera, location, contacts, or file storage.

The Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Support links inside the app's Settings open this website in your device's browser; visiting them does not send us any information beyond the standard server logs described below.

Your rights

Because Shimpaku does not collect personal data, there is no personal data about you for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — you already have full control from within the app, under Settings → Reset all local data. We do not sell or share personal data, including for residents of the EEA, the UK, or California.

Children

Shimpaku is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Since the app does not collect personal data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children either.

This website

This website does not use cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider may record standard technical server logs (such as IP address and user agent) as part of normal web hosting; we do not use this information to identify individual visitors.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above.
